Submission

Supporting the concept of interdisciplinarity, we welcome submissions in the area of humanities and social sciences.

 

The deadline for registration is September 10, 2015.

 

All papers should be sent via conference email   cultural.studies.conference@gmail.com no later than October 31, 2015. (Use your last name to title the document file).

 

Selected papers will be published after the conference as a proceedings. 

 

  • Submission is expected to be between 3000-4500 words incl. bibliography and notes (8-10 pages)
  • Submit the manuscript in .doc format.
  • Submissions should be in American English.
  • Follow the instructions here which are based on the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers, 7th ed. (2009) which you might consult for questions not covered.
  • Use ten-point Times New Roman throughout the document.
  • Spacing between lines should be 12-point for the main text.
  • Use block quotations for quotes which are longer than 4 lines.
  • Use footnotes.
  • Provide permissions for material that is protected under any copyright law (esp. illustrations, min quality for illustrations 300 dpi).
  • Please use rounded quotation marks “…” and use double quotation marks throughout, except for quotes within quotes which are indicated by single quotation marks (‘…’), please use rounded ones here as well.
  • Check punctuation (AE: periods and commas within closing quotation marks; other punctuation marks only when they are part of the quoted material).
  • Please use em-dashes without spaces: for instance—like this.
  • Please include brackets for ellipses […]
  • Please turn off automatic hyphenation.

We will use the MLA Style Sheet (in-text citations), here are some examples for entries in the bibliography, please consult the 7th ed. of the MLA Handbook for questions not covered:
